Two Hamer are preparing a drink made from wheat during the bull jump ceremony. The Hamer are a tribal people in southwestern Ethiopia. Are great masters in the body decoration and famous for their unique hairstyles. They live in Hamer Bena woreda , a fertile part of the Omo River valley, in the Debub Omo Zone of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region . They are largely pastoralists, so their culture places a high value on cattle. Their society consists of a complex system of age groups. To pass from one age group to another involves complicated rituals. The most important ceremony for young men is the 'bull jumping' ,the final test before passing into adulthood. Before the main event of the ceremony the unmarried women of his family have to prove family's courage allowing themselves to be whipped. Lower Omo valley, Ethiopia.
