Catherine Malandrino for Kohl's Is on Its Way. These Are 5 Things

By A Mystery Man Writer

Drumroll, please. The moment we (er, I) have been waiting for has finally arrived. The third installment in Kohls' DesigNation has been announced. Following Derek Lam and Narciso Rodriguez, next in line to join the retailer is Catherine Malandrino. The 80-piece collection, which was inspired by Paris, is set to launch in the fall and will feature skirts, dresses, pants, and more, retailing between $36 and $130. "Every woman in America has a French dream in her head, especially a Parisian one," Malandrino told WWD. Well, pardon my French, but holy crap, am I excited! No photos have been released (with the exception of two sketches…sad), but if Catherine's fall 2013 collection (and past portfolio) is any indication of what to look forward to, here are five things I have my fingers crossed for! The sketch WWD released alludes to an oxblood-color dress. If it looks like this tough-yet-feminine style (a signature Catherine combo), count me in. For me, nothing says Parisian-chic like a chunky bolero jacket, and this olive cape (Catherine's been all about sharp-and-structured lines lately) is right on the money. Hint, hint, C.M.! Malandrino's designs are known to home in on the type of intricate geometric prints
