The Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) is a common medium-sized bird in the family Ardeidae. The Little Egret measures from 55 to 65 cm in length, with a wingspan of 86-104 cm. It weighs from around 280-640 g. Its plumage is completely white. Adults in breeding plumage have a greyish-blue face and reddish lores. There are two long and fine white feathers on the rear crown, extending from the nape to mid-neck. They also have “aigrettes”, long plumes on the upper breast and curved scapular feathers.
