The Expander TLSO (torso lumbosacral orthosis) uses an air pocket expansion system to restrict unwanted motion in the sagittal-coronal-transverse plane. When inflated, the orthosis provides traction between the lower rib cage and upper trochanter, reducing pressure on the lower back and intervertebral discs. A hand air pump is included to inflate the Expander TLSO. A rigid panel is also incorporated, which extends from the sacrococcygeal junction to the inferior scapular spine, which helps provide lateral strength and support; it can be removed if necessary.
